WAZA2020, a traditional traditional craft exhibition at Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro
About 100 traditional crafts designated by the country will be exhibited.
The traditional handicrafts exhibition "WAZA2020" is held every year at the Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro 8F Exhibition Hall. Approximately 100 traditional crafts from all over Japan are introduced on two major themes: "Travel on tools to enjoy food" and "Gem with a good craftsmanship."
It will be conducted in Japanese, but there is also a production experience. If you would like to participate, please receive a numbered ticket distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at 10:00 each time at the venue and gather 15 minutes before the start.
You can also watch the demonstrations around this weekend. This is one of the few occasions where you can see various craftsmanship skills, such as weaving Ushikubi Tsumugi, pottery molded with potter's wheel, Chinkin) lacquer work and Makie (lacquer painting) on lacquerware, and woodwork inlay.
Hours : 10:00 - 20:00 B2F-3F, 6F (Zone 3-7), 9F and 10F are open till 21:00 except for Sundays and national holidays.
